Fly Savoia is a full-service drone operations company built for professionals who demand more than just a camera in the sky. COMMON QUESTIONS

Are your pilots FAA certified?

Yes. All Fly Savoia pilots hold FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificates and carry comprehensive liability insurance. We handle all airspace authorization and regulatory filings, including Class B, C, and D airspace, as part of our standard flight planning process.

What camera systems do you fly?

Our fleet supports a range of cinema and broadcast payloads including DJI Mavic airframes and tethered kite camera systems (KAP). Each equipment load-out is matched to the specific technical and creative requirements of each project.

Can you operate on active film or television sets?

100%. With 25+ years of motion picture industry credits, we are experienced working within union and non-union production environments and can integrate with your existing crew structure. We're comfortable with AD scheduling, walkie-talkie protocols, and all standard on-set safety procedures.

What are your typical deliverable formats?

For cinematography projects, we deliver raw or transcoded footage in the format specified by your DIT or post-production pipeline. For mapping and scanning projects, we deliver ortho-mosaics, point clouds, and 3D models compatible with industry-standard GIS and 3D software.

How far in advance should I book?

For film and television productions, we recommend engaging us as early as pre-production to allow for shot planning and permitting. For commercial and industrial projects, two to four weeks is typically sufficient, though we can accommodate shorter lead times depending on airspace and availability.

Do you work outside the local area?

Yes. Fly Savoia operates nationally and is experienced with location scouting, remote site logistics, and multi-state regulatory coordination. Travel and accommodation are factored into project quotes on a per-mission basis.
